Taylor Swift Files Trademark For 'Female Rage: The Musical'

Taylor Swift has formally claimed ownership of a nickname for a new section of her “Eras” tour. While it remains to be seen if it’ll succeed, at least, she has secured her rights.

The singer last week filed for a trademark, and it mentions her shout-out during her Paris tour last weekend – “Female Rage: The Musical,”

Taylor’s company, TAS Rights Management, filed paperwork to trademark the phrase in documents acquired by TMZ. The singer clarified on social media on Sunday that the phrase was the theme of her recently added “Tortured Poets Department” set.

Although Taylor’s intentions for the trademark were not disclosed in the petition, it does outline all of her intended uses for the phrase, including adding it to music and video recordings and slapping it on a variety of items for possible merchandise.

Recall that Taylor completely shook things up for the European leg of her Eras tour, bringing a new intro, numerous outfit changes, and lineup adjustments to her Paris gigs.

She not only changed the sequence in which she performed her various eras, but she also included seven songs from her record-breaking album, “TTPD.”

Given that some fans have already begun to attempt branding their products with “Female Rage: The Musical,” the move may be protective.

The now-viral phrase and Taylor’s tour photo have already been included on a few t-shirts and hoodies that have appeared on Etsy.

Therefore, it only makes sense for Taylor to attempt to capitalize on the phrase—or, at the absolute least, to safeguard her earnings potential from it.
