Sophie Turner and Taylor Swift became close friends at the perfect time.
Last September, after Sophie’s husband Joe Jonas filed for divorce, she and her daughters Willa and Delphine were in New York without a place to stay. Sophie asked Taylor Swift if she knew of any rentals, and Taylor immediately offered her own apartment for free.
“Taylor was my hero this year,” Sophie said in British Vogue. “She gave us a home and made us feel safe.”
Taylor and Joe dated briefly in 2008, and though Sophie and Taylor met years ago, they only recently became close friends.
They have supported each other on social media and at events. In September 2023, shortly after Sophie’s divorce news, she and Taylor had a girls’ night out in New York. Sophie and her daughters then stayed at Taylor’s home.
A source said, “Sophie is happy to be with her girls. Taylor has been a great friend and opened her home to Sophie.”
Sophie and Taylor were seen together again in New York with friends, including Blake Lively and Brittany Mahomes.
Sophie also showed support for Taylor’s new album in April by sharing one of her songs on Instagram.
Taylor is currently on her Eras Tour in Europe, with shows in Sweden coming up.
